CHINESE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN CAMBODIA is a self-regulatory, non-profit business association of Chinese-funded enterprises in Cambodia registered under the leadership of the Economic and Commercial Department of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Cambodia and approved by the relevant departments of the Royal Government of Cambodia. At present, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia has more than 500 member units, enterprises of various ownships coexist, and the business scope is wide, including state-owned enterprises, private enterprises and individual businessmen. The member enterprises are engaged in economic and trade industries including: Forest development and wood processing, comprehensive agricultural development, textile mills, garment processing, electricity, trade, engineering and construction, telecommunications, tourism services, medicine, transportation, handicraft processing, catering and other fields. The Chamber of Commerce provides a variety of exchange platforms for members to share rich resources and business opportunities and contribute to the exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade, education and culture between China and Cambodia.
Founded in 1996 on the basis of the former Association of Chinese-funded Enterprises in Cambodia, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia is one of the three major Chinese associations in Cambodia and the only Chinese-funded enterprise group under the direct leadership of the Embassy.
Purpose of the Chamber of Commerce
To promote the mutual contact, exchange and solidarity among Chinese enterprises in Cambodia, enhance the cohesion among Chinese enterprises, and establish the overall good image of Chinese enterprises in the Cambodian market. To represent the overall interests of Chinese enterprises in Cambodia in foreign work and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises in Cambodia. To enhance understanding, communication, exchanges and cooperation between Chinese enterprises, local business communities and other social organizations in Cambodia, and further promote the development of China-Cambodia economic and trade cooperation.
Duties of the chamber of Commerce
To guide, coordinate and urge member enterprises to conduct lawful business in accordance with relevant laws and regulations of China and Cambodia; Promote fair competition and solve major business problems through consultation; In major economic and trade cooperation business and representative problems occur, on behalf of the member units to negotiate, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the member units.
It provides various information and consulting services to member units on Cambodian policies, laws and regulations, market information, etc., organizes member units to carry out exchanges and cooperation with all sectors of Cambodia, and helps member units to expand economic and trade cooperation in Cambodia.
Strengthen the contact between member units, organize relevant activities regularly, and facilitate the information communication and experience exchange among members. Coordinate the business behavior among member units, conduct internal consultation and coordination on the market, customer, price and quality issues of common concern to members.
We will promptly report to the Economic and Commercial Department of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia the problems encountered by Chinese enterprises in conducting economic and trade work with Cambodia, and put forward our opinions and suggestions.
